On 26th March , 2021, Berlin vocational education group of Germany hold an online professional lecture on mechanical and electrical technology in the meeting room at International Academic Exchange Center by connecting with us. More than 30 teachers from the Quality Supervision Department, the Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the Department of Electric Power Engineering and the Department of Automation Engineering attended the lecture. Liu Cunxiang, the vice president of the college, also attended the lecture and delivered important speeches.
Professor Burkhard Colditz, a senior expert of Berlin vocational education group, focusing on the course content, teaching objectives, teaching methods, assessment and evaluation, introduced the teaching process and methods of mechanical and electrical engineering technology courses in German vocational education in simple terms through his illustrated PPT using the “double-piston system with a switch” as an example. He pointed out that in German, vocational education not only imparts theoretical knowledge and skills, but also pays more attention to the development of vocational norms, safety protection awareness, vocational habits, and the overall and systematic cultivation of students' comprehensive abilities and professional conduct ability including the working methods, project development planning, product development and improvement, and product documentation.
The teachers actively participated in the lecture. Zhao Xinye, a teacher from Department of mechanical and electrical engineering, said that Professor Burkhard Colditz’s lecture provided much inspiration for their future practical teaching and the development of electromechanical control system since the lecture used the “double-piston system with a switch” as a concrete example to guide students to learn corresponding knowledge, exercise their practical development ability, and cultivate their comprehensive professional ability by combining theories with practices through systematic explanations and partial analyses.
Liu cunxiang expressed his great gratitude to Ms. Yan Jun, chairman of Berlin vocational education group, Mr. Wang Jian, director, and Professor Burkhard Colditz, the speaker, and thanked them for taking their vacation time to give lectures to our teachers.
Liu also extended thanks to Professor Burkhard Colditz for giving a wonderful lecture spanning time and space to our teachers and expressed his willingness to carry out further cooperation with Berlin vocational education group of Germany. He stressed that teachers should think carefully about the following: firstly, think about the referential significance of this lecture for improving the talent training programs, making innovations to the curriculum content, and developing teaching systems; secondly, think about how to “bring in” high-quality educational resources; thirdly, think about the professional directions and new development models of the college’s international cooperation. In 2021, under the background of college-enterprise joint training of talents, and under the trend of opening up of education, the college will explore the integration of high-quality education resources of powerful manufacturer into daily education and teaching, and accelerate the cultivation of technical talents with an international vision and comprehensive professional conduct abilities by attaching great importance to practice and applying what has been learned.
