Guangxi Vocational College of Water Resources and Electric Power Participated in the Delegation of China-ASEAN TVET to Laos, Cambodia and Indonesia

From July 10 to 19, the Delegation of China-ASEAN  TVET, led by An Yan, Deputy Secretary General of China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), visited to Laos, Cambodia and Indonesia for exchanges, attended by Li Changni, director of the Foreign Exchange Center of Guangxi Vocational College of Water Resources and Electric Power (GVCWREP). The delegation is the first delegation of vocational colleges sent by the Ministry of Education, PRC to ASEAN countries after the pandemic. This visit provides an important platform for promoting the development of education cooperation between China and ASEAN, serving as an important measure for our school to actively respond to and implement the "Belt and Road" Initiative.

 

During the visit in Laos, the delegation visited Pakpasak Technical College and the Ministry of Education and Sports of Lao PDR, and participated in the 2023 Laos-China TVET Cooperation Forum. At the meeting, our school representative introduced the school profile to Director Benson and Deputy Director Thongsa and presented them the school publicity materials. Both sides exchanged in-depth views on China-Laos educational cooperation topics of common concern and expressed support for in-depth cooperation in the field of vocational education, hoping to take this visit as a new opportunity to expand cooperation for mutual benefit and win-win results.

 

During the visit in Cambodia, the delegation visited Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Centre for Technical Education Development (SEAMEO TED), National Polytechnic Institute of Cambodia (NPIC) and National Technical Training Institute of Cambodia (NTTI), carried out inspection in Cambodia Luban Workshop, and participated in the 2023 Cambodia-China TVET Cooperation Forum, where in-depth exchanges and discussions were held on the cooperation in vocational education between China and Cambodia.

 

At the meeting, our school representative presented the school publicity materials to the representative of Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) and exchanged views on the next step of bilateral cooperation. Dr. Songheang Ai, Director of the SEAMEO TED and Mr.Pho Mara, Director of Technical Education and Training Department,SEAMEO expressed their willingness to cooperate with our school and presented souvenirs.

 

An Yan, Deputy Secretary General of CEAIE, and our school representative presented the calligraphy work of our school motto to His Excellency Yok Sothy, Ph.D., Director of NTTI, then introduced our school as well as the school motto to all the foreign guests. After that, our school invited the president of Prek Leap National College of Agriculture to take part in the upcoming China-ASEAN Intelligent Water Resources Forum for Education, Talents, and Industry Integration and Development, which is organized by GVCWREP, then conducted negotiations for further school-enterprise cooperation with FOR-WORD (Cambodia) Agriculture Development Co., Ltd.

 

Later, the delegation visited LIUGONG Indonesia, Jakarta State Polytechnic (PNJ), Indonesia Higher Education Union, and participated in the 2023 Indonesia-China TVET Cooperation Forum. At the meeting, our school representative presented publicity materials to Mr. Yudil Chatim, Education Counsellor of Indonesian Embassy in China, then carried out preliminary cooperation negotiations with Electronics Engineering Polytechnic Institute of Surabaya, Indonesia.

 

During the visit to the Indonesian Higher Education Union and Vocational Education Alliance, our school representative also negotiated with Bimasa Kapunta Accounting College and Bina Insani University, so that initial cooperation intention has been reached and Memorandum of Negotiation has been signed.

 

 

Through this visit, our school has made initial contacts with many universities and colleges in Laos, Cambodia and Indonesia, laying the foundation for further exchanges in these three countries. Meanwhile, the visit has actively explored new models of vocational education and technical cooperation under the new situation after the pandemic, contributed wisdom and strength of vocational education through a stable exchange mechanism, and provided technical and manpower support for building a better community of shared future between China, Laos, Cambodia and Indonesia.
