From March 1st to 2nd, the China-Britain Vocational Education Cooperation Seminar and Negotiation Conference organized by China Education International Exchange Association and the UK Department of Commerce and Trade was held in Qingdao, Shandong. More than 80 people from Shandong Provincial Department of Education, the UK Department of Commerce and Trade, and more than 30 vocational colleges in China and the UK attended the conference. Vice President Liu Cunxiang of the school participated in the negotiation online, and the leaders of the Foreign Exchange Center, the Faculty of Water Resources, and the Faculty of Electric Power attended the meeting on-site.
Yu Yougen, Deputy Secretary General of China International Exchange of Education Association, and other leaders attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Yu Yougen stated that foreign cooperation at schools has practical significance in promoting the development of vocational education and cultivating high-quality talents with an international perspective and adapting to diverse cultures. China-Britain cooperation at schools also plays an important part in educational exchanges between countries, and it is of great significance to jointly build a new highland for international cooperation in higher vocational education.
During the seminar, representatives from China and the UK exchanged ideas and discussions on the current situations and practices of foreign cooperative education, policy interpretation, case sharing, and demand sharing. Based on our own educational characteristics, our school has conducted round table discussions with British universities such as Southwest Cheshire College and Northwest Ireland College on cooperative education, teacher training, language training, and other aspects. We have reached a preliminary consensus and attempted to carry out all-round and multi-dimensional cooperation.
After the meeting, our school visited enterprises and schools such as Helkaos and Qingdao Hotel Management Vocational and Technical College on site, expanding our thinking and learning from each other based on visits and exchanges.
The negotiations and the exchanges are conducive to mutual understanding between representatives of our school and British universities, and the establishment of a friendly cooperation relationship. Our school will take this opportunity to introduce high-quality vocational education resources, to enhance the internationalization level of professional courses, to jointly cultivate high-quality composite talents with international perspectives with foreign universities, and to gradually enhance the school's international influence and recognition.
